Imo State Election Result 2015 : Governorship

..  UPDATE:  The incumbent Governor Rochas Okorocha has secured victory after the supplementary polls conducted to conclude the inconclusive governorship election in Imo State. More info here.

As at the time of publishing this 2015 Imo State Governosrhip Election Result, the Incumbent Governor Rochas Okorocha, is leading Hon. Emeka Ihedioha of PDP by 79,529 votes and INEC has declared the election as inconclusive.




The reason given by the electoral body for the decision was that the governor is leading Ihedioha by 79,529 votes, which is by far lower than the 144,715 votes cancelled by the INEC as a result of irregularities in some wards.

The returning officer for the election, Professor Ibidapo Obe, said a new date would be announced for a supplementary election in the cancelled wards across several local government areas.

Okorocha had garnered 385,671 votes compared to the 306,142 votes scored by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Emeka Ihedioha who is the current Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
